Stretch Run!!
I have missed the last two tournament blogs after Lake Hartwell for Beaver Lake and Pickwick and it was done pretty much on purpose. The last two events have both been train wrecks for me and reliving them through the blog was something I wanted to skip. Sometimes I just have to forget they happened and move on, and that is what I am choosing to do here.
So, on to stop #5 Kentucky Lake, as always this is going to be the event that I have been looking forward to all year long. Me and Kentucky Lake have a lot of history together, a lot of good and a lot of bad but it is my favorite lake and I cant wait to get back there and make another memory there. It is no secret that this is going to be a full blown ledge event and we are going to smash them that week. The first week of June for some reason every year just seems to be the time the Mega Bite starts offshore on this pond. Big Lures and Big Bass are right up my alley and I hope that a few right decisions lead me to the winning fish. Timing is the name of the game when it comes to ledge fishing, you could be on the largest school of big bass you have ever found but if you don't get the timing dialed in on when to pull up there and when not to, your results will never show it.
As I had mentioned earlier that I had a couple of pretty horrible performance's at the prior two events, I have ended my hopes for fishing the 2016 Cup on Lake Wheeler. Now I have had to shift my goals for the final two events towards making some money and looking towards 2017. With a good showing I can still end the year on somewhat of a high note with a little cash back in the bank for the future. Looking forward to a detailed blog update on the Kentucky Lake event in a few weeks.
